Never ever!

The Shea! Grau in Grau in Weiß. Höchste Zeit also, dass mal wieder jemand einen knallbunten Gipfel hinzufügt!

Yes, we admit. We at Konkord sometimes put the thumbscrews on our artists. In case they’re not delivering on time. And the South Tyrolean Othmar Schönafinger aka The Shea had been stalling us for just too long. Why would we and all those 60ies fans and all pop-bohemiens in general renounce the many hits, the glittery bits and the ballroom blitz The Shea is famous for? Well, we wouldn’t! So, thumbscrews tightened and voilà, Othmar delivers.

On his debut album "Every Tear A Hit" (Konkord 108) Othmars’ one-man-band The Shea sparred the short-crunchy songs of the Kinks, Zombies and Beatles, on the follow up "Disappear" he stirs a healthy shot of glam rock into the mix. With the Single "Pumping On Your Chest" The Shea finally succeeded in creating a hit that Marc Bolan would whistle along to, as would the early Roxy Music. This album also features one of the most explosive guitar solos in the Trash-N-Fun genre. Take that, Wild Billy Childish!

Naming his band after the stadium where the Beatles gave their last official concert, Othmar is fogging us on "Pumping On Your Chest" with the most exquisite sounds of his many vintage dream machines, creating Texmex soundscapes soaked in tequila and filling us up to the brim with psychedelic fuel. So if you’ve been tired of waiting, don’t be no more. Because all the catchy melodies, the swinging earscapes and the laissez-fairiest motownish dance grooves you’d ever imagined are all right here on this vinyl.

And the world is a better place now - courtesy of our thumbscrews.
